Berowra to Brooklyn Night Wild Walk - June 2018
About the adventure
This is a challenging walk to allow you to test your mental and physical preparation before a high altitude or multiday hike, or an event such as the 60km Coastrek. We will be walking fairly quickly and taking minimal stops, with the goal to complete the 26km in 10 hours.
This hike explores some of the most beautiful and rugged sections of the Great North Walk. You will be delighted to step into the bush along well-marked trails listening to the calls of night birds, looking out for night wildlife. Berowra Waters by torchlight is stunning, and you will love seeing the rocks and waterways by torchlight.
We will stop for supper about halfway, before enjoying the chorus of birds in the pre-dawn and watching the light come in. We will take a short stop at beautiful Jerusalem Bay before completing the walk to Brooklyn where we can celebrate over coffee and/or breakfast before catching the train back to our cars.
Wild Women On Top guided walk with accompanying WWOT coach, first aid, NPWS entry fees, National Parks Licence and gourmet supper. Breakfast & or coffee in the morning at a café is at own cost.
Challenging. You must be of very good fitness and capable of carrying an 8kg pack for up to 8-10 hours on long steep uneven and undulating terrain in the dark when you may already be fatigued and in variable weather conditions.
