Workout of the Week: To boost your fitness levels for Coastrek and to keep you active in the silly season, here’s Lisa’s Workout of the Week to do as “homework’ between your Trek Training sessions!
I do this workout twice a week when I only have an hour before work to squeeze in a quick training session. It gives me a great adrenalin boost for the day, works my legs and core and leaves me feeling like I’ve worked really hard and accomplished a lot in 50-60 minutes. I aim to be out of breath for most of this workout so that my perceived rate of exertion is 8-9/10.
1 hour: 4km walk with pack or run (no pack) with 10 minutes on stairs/hills – fast as you can up and slow, traversing for recovery on the way down, then 30 squats, 40 push ups and 50 sit ups/crunches. You can divide these up any way you like!
