How fit do I need to be?

First, if you're considering Trek Training, you're probably fitter than you give yourself credit for.  You don't need to be Wonder Woman but your transition to being fit for adventure will be more comfortable if you can walk at a brisk pace (4km/hour) for 90 min. When you start, you walk at a comfortable pace, with a small daypack carrying water, a towel, raincoat and a head torch (for night sessions). As you get more experienced, we encourage you to add weight to your pack to increase your cardio-vascular fitness.  It won't take long for you to see improvements in your fitness level.

What do I need for my first walk?

For best results, please eat only a light meal before training, such as nuts with fruit and/or vegies or salad with a bit of protein (egg, tuna, chicken, etc).

It is very important that you read the Getting Started document which will help you prepare for your first Trek Training Session.
